Background
My research interests lie in the areas of mathematics education and number theory. My work so far has focused on mathematics language acquisition in algebra problem solving among Latinx students. I aim to transfer my passion for mathematics to every student and transform the collegiate classroom into an exploratory thinking tank.
My goal is to look for ways to make mathematical connections and enable students to see beyond what is in front of them. I believe that the arts can serve to motivate young people and empower them in a way that it transcends into other areas of life—including STEM. I work to bridge the two by combining my love for the arts with my passion for mathematics using coding as a method to teach students how to step.
